Focus Areas

To assist you as you make your breakout session selections, a focus area is included after the title of each session.
  • Clinical Quality and Efficiency: Learn to measure and improve efficiency in your clinical process, quality measures and outcomes.
  • Employee and Physician Engagement: Learn best practices and techniques that will help you motivate staff and increase staff satisfaction.
  • Medical Practice (New): Prepare your practice or clinic for payment reform and an increasingly competitive environment by attending these sessions.
  • Service Excellence: The presentations in this focus area will help you optimize the patient experience in your hospital or acute care facility.

Session Levels

  • Introductory: Participants need only a very basic understanding of the health care environment and do not need experience with the processes and content discussed. Most health care professionals would be able to join the session and receive a benefit without any previous experience.
  • Intermediate: Intermediate sessions are for participants who have at least a general understanding of the health care environment discussed in the session. Personal work experience or study about the environment is needed to fully appreciate the material. A brief overview of the concepts may be provided in the presentation to make sure the audience is up to speed before diving into the deeper content. Participant should have at least casual exposure to the processes and content discussed in the session description.
  • Advanced: These sessions are designed for participants who have personal experience with the processes and content discussed and/or have direct experience with the health care environment being discussed. Participants will need to have worked within that specific care environment to fully appreciate the material presented. Presenters will not provide a basic overview or introduction during the presentation as it will be assumed the audience has a working knowledge of the material to be discussed.
